kill_the_capitol, that is not even remotely okay. Mods and admins (people with pretty name colors) are here for a reason, volunteering their time to make sure the site runs smoothly. We, like any society, have rules, and for a reason. They are easily accessed from just about any point in the forum, and it is the responsibility of each member to abide by them. Every single rule we have in place has a purpose.
Expressly advertising in threads is rude because we've put a lot of time and effort into building the member base of our forum, and getting our google rank to what it is. It's completely unfair to everyone for other people to leech off this by posting links to their sites in threads. We let people link to relevant articles, and we let people have links to their sites in their signatures. It really isn't too much of us to ask for to keep people from detracting from our site by making threads about their sites. This is also unfair to our affiliates, who have had to apply to get their link featured on our index page.
When an admin
"Red-Texts" you or when a moderator
"Green-Texts" you, it is merely a gentle reminder to obey the rules of the forum. It's nothing personal, they are just doing their job,
so don't argue with them. They may come off as blunt when they begin to lose their patience, but forgive that. Keeping a forum of nearly 3000 members in order is no easy task split between the ten of us, and it can really put a strain on our nerves.
That said, it is vital that you are especially kind to moderators and administrators. Like I mentioned earlier, this is volunteer work we're doing here, to keep the forum from anarchy, and no one wants to put up with a disrespectful member.
In fact, that's part of Rule 1:
First things first, AKA the typical guidelines you see everywhere. No spamming, no pornography, no offensive language, no plagiarism…you get the gist. Bottom line, be respectful of others. No flaming. Threats will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.You have continually violated this rule, being rude to hardworking members of the staff, and, more importantly, to multiple members of the forum. I don't know how you think this works, but we are getting very sick and tired of your rude, offensive behavior, and will no longer be tolerating it.
As per this post, you are receiving your second official board warning. When you reach 3 warnings, you will be banned from the forum for a short period of time. If you've got any gripes, you may PM
me directly in response to this post. This thread is now locked, and I don't want you harassing my staff any more than you have already.
