I personally like and don't like the cover, at the same time. It'd light blue, which implies, as you said, a positive ending. The bird that flies speaks of freedom, hope, a new beginning. It's a very powerful contrast to the other two books, which were decorated in shades of black and red.

But there's something wrong here. Suzanne Collins is not a light-blue person. Does not write light-blue type of books (like romance or comedies or fun stuff like that). Does not like light-blue endings. The ending of TUC was one of the most depressing I've read (not that the rest of it is very cheery), even though it's a children's book; even though most of the important characters live and the battle ends, which mean that, officially, it ends "fine"...

At the same time, the covers brings automatically another thing to my mind. The moment I saw it, in my head resounded the words "The soul takes flight to the world that is invisible..." (It's a quote from "Lady Jane" movie, with Helena Bonham-Carter, btw.) Well, in this way, its symbolism is death. So, quite the opposite of the freedom, joy and hope of victory. There may be a victory, but enough tragedy to make it somber and painful. Well, that's what I predict... And I guess it couldn't be otherwise... it's still "The Hunger Games", in the end!

Well, I like the difference and originality of it. As said before, it looks like it is being broken free and is flying through the sky.

And It kinda seems to foreshadow the book... It's clever, and the detailing looks a lot greater.

So those of you who are caught up with the "It doesn't go with the others"... I'm sawry, but that is definitely what makes it great, in my opinion. ;]

Some people view death as a form of freedom. To a certain extent, I do too...Just a thought.

Do you guys like the cover? It seems a little bit different from the whole "theme" with the covers of the last 2 books. But overall, I think it's good. I knew it would be blue.

I first thought it would be a light blue color, but the color didn't go well with the other books, so I thought it would be more of a metallic dark blue, cuz when fire is really hot it is blue. I still like the cover though.

I like it a lot but it struck me as odd seeing as the other two covers were dark colors and this one is like baby blue. But, again, love the cover anyway.

same with the blue here. but if you look closely, the Mockingjay broke the circle and its free, so that shows freedom. and the other designs on the other covers were with the bird trapped in the circle, hence the dark colors.

The UK covers have been radically different from the US ones, the Catching Fire one has random bits of purple on it which I... never really discovered the meaning behind? (Wait, is that supposed to be berry juice?) So who knows what Mockingjay will be like? Though we may just get the American covers brought over -that's what they did for the Mortal Instruments.

Or the breaking circle could mean that Katniss looses it. Or is seriously injured. Or dies.
Just putting some healthy speculation out there. (Even though I'd hate it if that happened.)

Yeah, Catnip dying wouldn't be fun. The cover's very nice looking, though the cheerful blue color doesn't really match the setting.

I absolutley love the cover. However, I think that it is symbolizing death as Kat Mellark said. The breaking of the circle could sybolizing breaking free of the world, like many people believe happens after death. Since it is the mockingjay that is breaking free and the mockingjay has grown to be a part of Kat's identity, I think that Kat is going to lose something very important to her (most likely a person). Just a thought.

I do like the color and have nothing against it by itsself, but put it next to the other two and it looks like it doesn't belong, cuz I mean the other tooa are gold with red and black, and then BAM! the next ones a bright blue, but it is pretty
